Presentation will include Neighborhood Traffic Calming Plan - Staged Response Strategy, traffic calming examples, and strategies to increase Safe Routes to School focused travel modes. Then we will hear from Sean Houck, where he’ll dive into everything from mini roundabouts and Active Transportation Plan corridors to the latest breakthroughs in multi-lane roundabout design. Gain expert insights on in-service reviews of problematic roundabouts, video analytics, and the development of Crash Modification Factors (CMFs). Jaime Rodriguez is the Founding Principal of Traffic Patterns, a traffic engineering and transportation planning firm based in Danville, CA and Co-Founder of Smart City Signals, a technology firm developing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) solutions focused on public sector asset management and mobility. Jaime spent the first 20 years of his career as a public transportation official working for various cities in the Bay Area including Walnut Creek, San Jose, Milpitas, and lastly served as the Chief Transportation Official for the City of Palo Alto.

Sean is a principal engineer at Kimley-Horn and Associates with 28 years of success in the development and delivery of transportation projects for state and local agencies throughout California. He is a leading roundabout expert and shares a passion for the planning and implementation of roundabouts throughout the country. He specializes in the planning and design of mini, single lane, and multi-lane roundabouts across the country. Sean's project experience includes the planning and design of urban highway interchanges, urban arterials and collectors, road diet and complete street projects, conventional highways, as well as rail and transit facilities.
