He serves as staff liaison to the Legislative, Grassroots, Water Resources, and BMI committees, as well as the Architects and Engineers Conference Committee.
About ACEC
ACEC California is a 60 plus year-old, nonprofit association of private consulting engineering and land surveying firms. As a statewide organization, we are dedicated to enhancing the consulting engineering and land surveying professions, protecting the general public and promoting use of the private sector in the growth and development of our state. Our members provide services for all phases of planning, designing and constructing projects. Member services include civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical and mechanical engineering and land surveying for all types of public works, residential, commercial and industrial projects.
Presentation Topic
Government Code Section 1090 prohibits an officer, employee, or agency from participating in making government contracts in which the official or employee within the agency has a financial interest. ACEC California is sponsoring a piece of legislation this session to reform Government Code 1090, in order to avoid the current practice of barring A&E firms from participating on later phases of a public works project simply for having worked on an earlier phase.
