A summary of some of the lessons:
- Check your golf grip - Must feel comfortable and secure. Not too much pressure, though have your fingers wrapped around with a firm hold.
- Set hands slightly ahead of the clubhead at address, keep wrists and arms loose to allow the club head to swing freely.
- Mid irons - set ball in middle of stance. Arms in relaxed position at address.
- Practice hitting the ground, taking a divot.
- Hit down on the ball to launch the ball high. Let the loft of the club head launch the ball, no need to swing up on the ball with the mid iron.
- Don't be afraid to tee up the ball and break the tee with your iron.
- Align hips and shoulders and feet to be parallel of the target line.
- Position ball slightly forward of stance just ahead of the midpoint between your feet.
- Light grip pressure
- Feel a "pendulum" like stroke and feel the rotation movement come from the shoulders while keeping hands and wrists still.
- Stroke "through" the ball with a pendulum motion.
- Consistency is key, how far you take the putter back in your backswing will determine how far you hit the ball. Avoid deceleration during a swing. Remember to "stroke it", don't "poke it".
- Read the green for how the "topography" is to find your putting line.
- Try to place the ball a foot or two past the hole because you miss 100% of the shots that are too short.
- For pitching you can try a higher loft club like a pitching wedge, sand wedge, or gap wedge.
- Weight slightly forward, can place ball slightly back in the stance closer to trail foot.
- Short backswing that adjusts depending how far you want to hit the ball
- Accelerate through impact, don't decelerate.
- Avoid "scooping" the ball, focus on a smooth motion.
