Cement-Based Pavements – More Tools For Your Tool Belt

Summary:       Come hear about practical applications, costs, and new pavement solutions. Thin concrete overlays of asphalt, full-depth reclamation, cement-stabilized subgrades, and roller compacted concrete. Contractors and material providers will be strapped once all the SB-1 funds flow into the system. Incorporating more pavement solutions can help solve the looming issue of higher costs and limited bidders simply by allowing more contractors and industries to compete, especially since there is a cement plant located in Redding, CA.

Speaker Bio:   Clay Slocum, P.E. joined the California Nevada Cement Association as a local resource for pavement engineering. Clay provides technical expertise, educational material, design resources, and several other services to municipalities, engineers, and developers to advance the applications and use of concrete and cement for streets, local roads, and parking areas.
